Damian Martino, M.D.

Dr. Martino earned a B.S. degree in biology at Fordham University. Upon
graduation, Dr. Martino worked as a Clinical Research Associate at Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center in the Office of Clinical Trials. As a Clinical Research Associate, Dr. Martino
assured the quality, integrity, and adherence to hospital policy in the conduct of Thoracic
Oncology Clinical Trials. He also worked with investigators in analyzing and publishing
research outcomes by providing investigators with clinical data necessary to facilitate decisions
regarding patient care and follow-up during protocol therapy. His work led to several
abstracts/articles published in medical journals. Subsequently, Dr. Martino attended Ross
University School of Medicine and completed his residency in the field of Internal Medicine at
The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens under the auspices of Weil Cornell Medical
College of Medicine. Dr. Martino then pursued a fellowship in Pain and Palliative Care at
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he was involved in the treatment of acute,
chronic, and acute on chronic malignant and nonmalignant pain syndromes, as well as research
protocols and abstract presentations.

Dr. Martino treats vast array of pain syndromes including neuromusculoskeletal injuries,
complications of strokes (central pain), amputations, neck pain, low back pain, carpal tunnel
syndrome, pain associated with pre- and post- joint replacement surgery, and various other
chronic pain syndromes using multimodality therapy including pharmacotherapy and
interventional pain techniques. Dr. Martino was voted by his peers during his residency as PGY-
1, PGY-2, and PGY-3 resident-physician of the year.
