Edwin M. Gangemi, M.D., FAAC, PM&R

Jersey Rehab, P.A. was founded in 1993 by Edwin M. Gangemi, MD, a Board Certified Physiatrist. Jersey Rehab provides the most comprehensive rehabilitation services for neuromusculoskeletal disorders in the northeast.

Dr. Gangemi has a long history of caring for patients, as his father was a physician located in Newark for over thirty-five years. Dr. Gangemi’s resume includes having been a graduate of Rutgers University, thereafter having graduated from New York Medical College. Dr. Gangemi completed his residency in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation under the auspices of the University of Medicine and Dentistry Program of New Jersey. His specialty is physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Gangemi has extensive expertise in inpatient and outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is formerly director of a 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, Liberty Rehab, and now enjoys outpatient medicine in his private practice locations as per our website. Dr. Gangemi maintains several staff positions at local hospitals in Essex County as well as subacute rehabilitation units.

Previously, Dr. Gangemi served as director of the Workers’ Compensation Network for Magna Care, the largest preferred provider organization in the northeast. He was instrumental in designating care master treatment protocols, policies and procedures for injured workers.

Dr. Gangemi treats a vast array of neuromusculoskeletal injuries including stroke, amputations, neck pain, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, pre and post joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Gangemi was recently voted by his peers, as per New Jersey Monthly magazine November 2007 as one of the Top Doctors in his field and won recognition again in 2010 for PM&R.
